Why Ragdoll kitten prices vary in Florida03 · Veterinary Care
What every Gulf Coast Ragdolls kitten receives before pickup
Before going home, kittens receive their first FVRCP vaccination, a wellness examination by a licensed veterinarian, deworming, a fecal parasite test, and a feline leukemia (FeLV) test. Families also receive a Florida veterinary health certificate and veterinary records to bring to their own veterinarian.
We recommend establishing care with your veterinarian within 30 days so they can continue the FVRCP series, plan the rabies vaccine at the appropriate age, and discuss spay or neuter timing.

Know what living with a Ragdoll is actually like
Ragdolls tend to be social, easygoing, and happiest when they are part of everyday life. Many follow their people from room to room, settle nearby, and enjoy plenty of attention. They are best suited to indoor living with play, climbing space, scratching surfaces, and room to lounge.
They are also slow to mature. Ragdolls typically reach full maturity around three years old, with a lot of growth happening during the first year.

Get the basics ready before pickup
Before your kitten comes home, have a carrier, familiar food and litter, an appropriately sized litter box, food and water dishes, scratching surfaces, toys, and a comfortable space where they can settle in. We recommend starting with the food and litter they are already used to, then making any changes gradually.
Our New Kitten Guide covers feeding, litter, grooming, dental care, toys, home setup, introductions to other pets, and the products we recommend.

Let your kitten settle in at their own pace
Some kittens are comfortable almost immediately, while others need a little more time. A quiet base camp with food, water, litter, toys, and a cozy place to sleep gives them somewhere safe to adjust before exploring the rest of the home.
When you arrive home, open the carrier and let your kitten come out when they are ready. Play and curiosity can help them come out of their shell, and introductions to other pets should be gradual rather than rushed.
